Impressions of the Ambassador
Impressions of the Centauro by Allesandro
I purchased my 1970 Moto Guzzi Ambassador in 1978. I paid $400.00 cash for it. It ran fine, but the lights did not work. Took it home replaced most of the fuses and the lights worked ever since.
This bike has given me very little trouble during the years I have owned
it. The only things I did to it was to replace the Starter (twice), the distributor (once)
and did some minor rewiring. This was in addition to regular maint. of course.
I have ridden this bike almost daily since the day I bought it.
She is still my main ride to work and around town. She takes me anywhere I
want to go. Short or long distance, it doesn't matter. Smooth roads or rough. She just
keeps on going.
Thanks to Moto Guzzi Classics, in Long Beach Cal. and Cycle Garden in Huntington Beach
Cal. for all their help in keeping my Ambassador in good shape. All in all this bike has
been the best $400.00 investment I ever made.. I have owned her for 23 years and hope to
own her for many more.
Sincerely,
